Volkswagen Fox Oil Type Finder

The VW Fox belongs to the subcompact class and is primarily suitable for city traffic. Volkswagen promises a spacious companion suitable for everyday use. Sales in Germany began in 2005 and were discontinued in 2011 in favor of the VW Up! as the successor.

The VW Fox feels particularly comfortable in city traffic. In particular, the search for a parking space is very easy. With a length of only 3.8 meters and a width of 1.7 meters, the vehicle would fit more in the class of small cars, but due to the low prices and the very simple equipment it is still listed as a compact car. Nevertheless, VW attaches great importance to the suitability for everyday use of the Fox. Four seats with a good amount of space in the interior already make a big contribution to this. The seats in the second row can also be folded down, which increases the boot capacity to a good 1,016 litres. Volkswagen even offers an optional trailer hitch for the VW Fox. It is suitable for a maximum trailer load of 700 kg (braked) or 520 kg (unbraked).

Regularly checking and changing your Volkswagen Fox engine oil is really important. Every time you start and run your car, very fine by-products from the combustion in the engine will be collected in the engine oil. This is one of the reasons why over time the oil goes black. If these contaminants build up too much and exceed the capacity of the oil it can have a negative impact on your car’s overall efficiency and actually effect its performance as it creates sludge and increased wear in the engine block.

Every engine oil will have its viscosity grade labelled on the packaging. This will look something like 0W-20, 5W-30 or 5W-40. This grading is used to measure how thick / fluid the oil is and help ensure you buy the right oil for your car. The lower the viscosity grade of the oil, the more fluid and thinner it will be than those with a high grade (higher numbers) which will be much less running and thick.

So which engine oil should you buy for your Volkswagen Fox? Whether you are topping up your Volkswagen Fox oil or doing a full change of your Volkswagen Fox's oil it is really important that you use the correct grade of oil.
