Toyota CH-R Engine Oil Finder

The Toyota C-HR is an SUV coupe, a compact crossover characterised by a particularly distinctive design. The abbreviation C-HR stands for "Coupé High Rider", which on the one hand refers to the popular raised SUV seating position, but at the same time promises power and performance as a coupé.

The first C-HR entered the stage as a design study at the Paris Motor Show in 2014, and the first production model started in Europe in 2017. In 2020 there was the first facelift, but it was modernised rather carefully on the outside than revolutionized comprehensively.

What is really new, however, in addition to the hybrid drive with 122 hp system performance already known from the Toyota Prius, is a 2.0 l hybrid unit with the promising title "Hybrid Dynamic Force System", which is also installed in the Corolla, and powerful 184 hp performs.

Toyota is sometimes bold when it comes to looks, especially the hybrid vehicles like to look futuristic. The C-HR stands out with its unusual body: the upper cabin profile makes it look like a coupé and the stocky base looks like an SUV. The striking coupé-like design allows the Toyota C-HR to stand out clearly from the crowd of numerous compact SUVs such as the Audi Q2/Q3, BMW X1 or Kia Niro. Visually, it tends to compete against individual models that are just as extroverted, such as the Mazda CX 30 or Lexus UX.

Motor oil is a vital part of your Toyota CH-R's engine. It provides the much needed lubrication to many of the internal parts of an engine. One of its key job is to prevent wear and tear on the moving parts and helps keep the engine running smoothly. Without oil, the engine would cease up almost immediately.

Regularly checking and changing your Toyota CH-R engine oil is really important. Every time you start and run your car, very fine by-products from the combustion in the engine will be collected in the engine oil. This is one of the reasons why over time the oil goes black. If these contaminants build up too much and exceed the capacity of the oil it can have a negative impact on your car’s overall efficiency and actually effect its performance as it creates sludge and increased wear in the engine block.

Every engine oil will have its viscosity grade labelled on the packaging. This will look something like 0W-20, 5W-30 or 5W-40. This grading is used to measure how thick / fluid the oil is and help ensure you buy the right oil for your car. The lower the viscosity grade of the oil, the more fluid and thinner it will be than those with a high grade (higher numbers) which will be much less running and thick.

So which engine oil should you buy for your Toyota CH-R? Whether you are topping up your Toyota CH-R oil or doing a full change of your Toyota CH-R's oil it is really important that you use the correct grade of oil.

We have listed all the Toyota CH-R models and engine types in the following table, as well as the correct engine oil grade for each of the cars. You can use the search and filter to easily find the right engine oil for your Toyota CH-R.
