Check Oil Type, Grade And Viscosity For Seat Leon
The Seat Leon is a compact car from the VW subsidiary. The Leon series has been in production since 1999 and is still going strong in the UK and across Europe. The first two generations were developed on the basis of the Volkswagen Golf with the third series being in production 2012 and was based on the modular transverse matrix (MQB) from VW.
The Leon is a one of the most popular car series from Seat, and the third generation in particular sold very well right from the start. Compared to some of its competitors, the dynamic design of the Leon is somewhat sportier and more slick looking than that of the VW Golf or the Vauxhall Astra.
While fixed oil change intervals of 15,000 km/1 year are still standard for the first 1M generation, flexible long-life intervals of a maximum of 30,000 km/2 years have also been introduced from the second generation.
In the younger generation, the oil change interval is stored in the vehicle data carrier using a PR number. The PR number QI6 is common within Europe. For vehicles intended for other countries, the PR number and thus also the change interval may differ.
Seat installs lots of different engines across their car range and each one has its individual oil capacity. For example, a 2.0 Cupra 4Drive with 221 kW needs 5.7 litres for the oil change. With the 81 kW Leon 1.2 TSI, on the other hand, 4.0 litres are sufficient. Most engines in the series have filling quantities of around 4.0 to 5.0 litres but you need to check in your owners manual or directly with Seat for exact oil capacity .

By January 2020, Seat had sold more than 2 million Seat Leons, starting with the Seat Leon 1.4 Bj 1999 up to the Leon 2.0 TSI Cupra ST 370 with 272 kW, which Seat launched in 2018. The fourth generation, which came onto the market in April 2020, packs two plug-in hybrids on top of the diesel and petrol engines.
