Mitsubishi Shogun Oil Type Finder

When it comes to the Mitsubishi Shogun, there is not much to think about when it comes to the engine, there is only one diesel. The 3.2 litre four-cylinder diesel has an output of 190 hp, a maximum torque of 441 Nm and is coupled to a 5-speed automatic transmission. The standard consumption is between 9.0 litres for the three-door and 9.3 litres for the five-door. All versions have a top speed of 180 km/h. The three-door model needs 10.4 seconds to sprint to 100 km/h, the five-door model 11.1 seconds. In terms of emission values, they are close together at 238 g/km CO2 for the three-door and 245 g/km CO2 for the five-door.

When it comes to performance and fuel consumption, the lighter three-door has the edge. According to the standard, it consumes 9.0 litres compared to the 9.3 litres of the five-door model. In terms of emissions, it is 238 g/km compared to 245 g/km CO2. This puts all ogun models in the rather poor efficiency classes D and E. The short the Shogun needs 10.4 seconds to sprint to 100 km/h, and the five-door 11.1 seconds. All versions have a top speed of 180 km/h. Motor oil is a vital part of your Mitsubishi Shogun's engine. It provides the much needed lubrication to many of the internal parts of an engine. One of its key jobs is to prevent wear and tear on the moving parts which helps keep the engine running smoothly. Without oil, the engine would cease up almost immediately.

Regularly checking and changing your Mitsubishi Shogun engine oil is really important. Every time you start and run your car, very fine by-products from the combustion in the engine will be collected in the engine oil. This is one of the reasons why over time the oil goes black. If these contaminants build up too much and exceed the capacity of the oil it can have a negative impact on your car’s overall efficiency and actually effect its performance as it creates sludge and increased wear in the engine block.

Every engine oil will have its viscosity grade labelled on the packaging. This will look something like 0W-20, 5W-30 or 5W-40. This grading is used to measure how thick / fluid the oil is and help ensure you buy the right oil for your car. The lower the viscosity grade of the oil, the more fluid and thinner it will be than those with a high grade (higher numbers) which will be much less running and thick.

So which engine oil should you buy for your Mitsubishi Shogun? Whether you are topping up your Mitsubishi Shogun oil or doing a full change of your Mitsubishi Shogun's oil it is really important that you use the correct grade of oil.

We have listed all the Mitsubishi Shogun models and engine types in the following table, as well as the correct engine oil grade for each of the cars. You can use the search and filter to easily find the right engine oil for your Mitsubishi Shogun.

The Mitsubishi Pajero is undoubtedly one of the most important off-road vehicle icons. The large all-wheel drive vehicle has been around since the early 1980s and, as usual, is available in a short three-door and long five-door version. The V80 model has been on the market since 2007 and underwent a subtle facelift in 2012. The Pajero still has classic off-road qualities, is much less of a sporty SUV than a robust off-road vehicle, with which you can also move safely off-road on almost any surface. Accordingly, the main competitors are Toyota Landcruiser, Land Rover Discovery, Jeep Wrangler and the Mercedes G-Class.
