Seat Toledo Oil Type Finder

The Seat Toledo was a lower mid-range series from the panicked manufacturer Seat. The first two generations were classic sedans, the third generation more like a van-like hatchback. The fourth generation, which came onto the market in 2012 after a three-year break, was again designed as a classic sedan and structurally identical to the Skoda Rapid.

In the early days of the Toledo, it was quite clear to plan the oil change, since there was a uniform interval display for the different engines. But with the further development of the series, Seat differentiated the timing depending on the engine type. In this article we have looked at how often Seat has the Toledo from the different production phases line up for an oil change and which types of oil are used depending on the engine variant.

Seat Toledo Oil Change Interval

How often Seat sends the Toledo for an oil change depends on the engine variant and the construction generation. With a Toledo IV with the 1.2 litre petrol engine you have to pay attention to the PR number on the type plate. For a Seat with code QI1, for example, an oil change is necessary every 5000 km or every 12 months. Toledo with the code QI6, on the other hand, only need fresh engine oil every 15,000 km or annually.

Seat Toledo Engine Oil Capacity - How Much Engine Oil Does a Seat Toledo Need?

How many litres of which type of lubricant are used for a Toledo oil change can differ depending on the engine generation and the type of machine. For a Toledo III with the 1.4 litre petrol unit, for example, a good 3.2 litres of lubricant are topped up when the oil is changed. In particular, Seat has approved motor oils such as MOL Dynamic Star in the 0W40 viscosity class or MOL Dynamic Gold in the 5W30 standard for these model variants. Further information on oil types, oil quantities, viscosity classes and manufacturer approvals can be found in the corresponding data lists.

We have listed all the Seat Toledo models and engine types in the following table, as well as the correct engine oil grade for each of the cars. You can use the search and filter to easily find the right engine oil for your Seat Toledo.

The fourth generation of the SEAT Toledo was largely identical to the Skoda Rapid sedan and was manufactured in the Czech Republic by Skoda from 2012 to 2019. The petrol engines delivered 75 (1.2 MPI) to 125 hp (1.4 TSI), the 1.6 TDI was available with 90 to 115 hp.

SEAT Toledo 5P
The third generation of the SEAT Toledo was produced from 2004 to 2009 and used the technical basis of the PQ35 platform (including VW Golf V). The petrol engines delivered between 86 (1.4) and 200 hp (2.0 TSI), the diesel engines between 105 (1.9 TDI) and 170 hp (2.0 TDI).

SEAT Toledo 1M

SEAT Toledo 1L
The first generation of the SEAT Toledo was produced from 1991 to 1999 and was technically related to the VW Golf II and Golf III. The petrol engines had a power range from 71 (1.6) to 150 hp (2.0). The diesel engines came up with 64 (1.9 D) to 110 hp (1.9 TDI). A facelift was introduced in 1995.

Motor oil is a vital part of your Seat Toledo's engine. It provides the much needed lubrication to many of the internal parts of an engine. One of its key jobs is to prevent wear and tear on the moving parts which helps keep the engine running smoothly. Without oil, the engine would cease up almost immediately.

Regularly checking and changing your Seat Toledo engine oil is really important. Every time you start and run your car, very fine by-products from the combustion in the engine will be collected in the engine oil. This is one of the reasons why over time the oil goes black. If these contaminants build up too much and exceed the capacity of the oil it can have a negative impact on your car’s overall efficiency and actually effect its performance as it creates sludge and increased wear in the engine block.
