Vauxhall Combo Oil Type Finder

As a vehicle model, the Opel Combo has undergone a real metamorphosis. What began in 1986 as a panel van with only two seats has now blossomed into a popular family van. Under the name "Combo Life", the vehicle was launched for the first time in September 2018. Since June 2021, the Vauxhall Combo can also be ordered with battery-electric drive as the Opel Combo e-Life. In January 2022, Opel / Vauxhall announced that it would no longer offer the Combo Life as a combustion engine, but only with an electric drive in the future.

There are a number of different Vauxhall Combo models which is a strong selling point for families. Even the basic variant Combo-e Life is supplied with extensive safety equipment. Included are: Hill Start Assist, Active Pedestrian Warning Tone (AVAS), Intelligent Cruise Control and Speed Limiter, Lane Keeping Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Driver Drowsiness Detection and Front Collision Warning. The basic variant comes with a 3.5-inch LCD driver information display, air conditioning and heat-insulating glazing. The Edition line comes with park pilot, rear parking assist and fog lights. Who opts for the Elegance version decides, gets a whole lot of comfort and safety extras: 180-degree panoramic reversing camera, LED daytime running lights, a heated leather steering wheel, and a fully digital driver information display with 10-inch color display. In addition, the XL version can only be ordered in the Elegance line. The top version Ultimate comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, roof rails in silver, two-zone automatic climate control, in front and OpelConnect with telematics services.

Motor oil is a vital part of your Vauxhall Combo's engine. It provides the much needed lubrication to many of the internal parts of an engine. One of its key jobs is to prevent wear and tear on the moving parts which helps keep the engine running smoothly. Without oil, the engine would cease up almost immediately.

Regularly checking and changing your Vauxhall Combo engine oil is really important. Every time you start and run your car, very fine by-products from the combustion in the engine will be collected in the engine oil. This is one of the reasons why over time the oil goes black. If these contaminants build up too much and exceed the capacity of the oil it can have a negative impact on your car’s overall efficiency and actually effect its performance as it creates sludge and increased wear in the engine block.

Every engine oil will have its viscosity grade labelled on the packaging. This will look something like 0W-20, 5W-30 or 5W-40. This grading is used to measure how thick / fluid the oil is and help ensure you buy the right oil for your car. The lower the viscosity grade of the oil, the more fluid and thinner it will be than those with a high grade (higher numbers) which will be much less running and thick.

So which engine oil should you buy for your Vauxhall Combo? Whether you are topping up your Vauxhall Combo oil or doing a full change of your Vauxhall Combo's oil it is really important that you use the correct grade of oil.

We have listed all the Vauxhall Combo models and engine types in the following table, as well as the correct engine oil grade for each of the cars. You can use the search and filter to easily find the right engine oil for your Vauxhall Combo.
