Audi Q7 Oil Type Finder

The Audi Q7 is a premium SUV that has been in production since 2005 and is now in its second model generation. This vehicle, which is a good 5 meters long, is the perfect car for intercity and motorway routes. The high driving comfort is also complimented by its powerful and reliable engines.

With the first-generation Q7, available between 2005 and 2015, Audi made a successful entry into the premium SUV class. The large and heavy car is accordingly equipped with powerful machines.

The 3.0 TFSI, 3.6 FSI and 4.2 FSI (all six- and eight-cylinder) were available as petrol engines. The 3.0 TDI, 4.2 TDI and V12 TDI could be ordered as turbo diesel. The power range of all these engines is between 204 and 500 hp.

The second generation of the premium SUV, the Audi Q7 Type 4M, has been available since mid-2015. The 2.0 TFSI, 3.0 TFSI and 55 TFSI can be ordered as petrol engines, with the turbo diesel models you can choose between the 3.0 TDI ultra, 3.0 TDI, 45 TDI, 50 TDI and SQ7 TDI. The 2.0 TFSI e-tron, 55 e-tron and 3.0 TDI e-tron are available as hybrids. Strictly adhere to the oil change interval for each engine and thus ensure smooth operation!

As with any engine, changing the oil is the most important service job that you must never forget!

Audi Q7 Oil Change Interval

With the Audi Q7 4L and Q7 4M, a LongLife oil change interval can be followed. That means you can drive 30,000 kilometers or 24 months, whichever comes first, before your next oil change.

Audi Q7 4L Oil Quantities: 6.8 litres of oil must be filled in for the TFSI petrol engine with a displacement of 3.0 litres; the 6.0 TDI engine requires 12.5 litres. Your operating instructions state what is required for your unit!

Audi Q7 4M Oil Quantities: The tried-and-tested Castrol Edge 5W-30 LL brand oil is also an ideal choice for the Q7 4M, as it has Audi/VW approval. You can order it cheaply on Amazon. At 5.2 litres, the 2.0 TFSI petrol engine requires the least amount of oil, while the TDI with a displacement of 4.0 litres requires 9.5 litres. Check your manual to see what is required for your engine!

What Engine Oil For Audi Q7?

The well-known brand oil Castrol Edge 5W-30 LL is suitable for almost every engine on the Q7. It meets the required specification and has an Audi/VW approval.

Every engine oil will have its viscosity grade labelled on the packaging. This will look something like 0W-20, 5W-30 or 5W-40. This grading is used to measure how thick / fluid the oil is and help ensure you buy the right oil for your car. The lower the viscosity grade of the oil, the more fluid and thinner it will be than those with a high grade (higher numbers) which will be much less running and thick.

So which engine oil should you buy for your Audi Q7? Whether you are topping up your Audi Q7 oil or doing a full change of your Audi Q7's oil it is really important that you use the correct grade of oil.
