Kia Carens Oil Type Finder

Kia Carens Oil Change Info

Economical fuel consumption and the long engine life of your Carens depend largely on your strict adherence to the oil change intervals specified by Kia for the vans. In this article, we have put together the manufacturer's timelines for the different Carens generations or types: FC, FJ, UN, or RP for you. You will also find out how you can reduce oil change costs and which is the correct oil to use when doing a oil change.

The oil change intervals that apply to the Carens depend on the year of construction and engine type of the Kia van. For example, a Carens III (Type UN) with the 1.6-liter diesel engine needs fresh engine oil every 15,000 km or annually. For the Carens IV (Type RP) with the 2.0-liter petrol engine, Kia extended the oil change interval to 30,000 km or 12 months.

Kia Carens Oil Change Costs

In a practical test, we carried out a price comparison for an oil change on a Carens II with the 2.0-litre diesel in the UK. It turned out that the workshops charged very different rates for changing the engine oil on our test Kia. In Newcastle, the results list showed a cheap workshop that only charged £59.99 for the service. In London however, we would pay significantly more for an oil change at up to £149.99 (price status: March 14, 2024).

Kia Carens Engine Oil Capacity - How Much Engine Oil Does a Kia Carens Need?

The amount and type of oil the workshop uses for the service depends on the engine of the Carens. For example, models of the FJ type with the 1.6-liter petrol engine need around 3.2 liters of fresh lubricant per oil change. Kia specifies engine oils with the API SG specification as the standard for the type of oil used. More information on oil quantities, types of oil with manufacturer approval, and viscosity classes can be found in the tables below.

We have listed all the Kia Carens models and engine types in the following table, as well as the correct engine oil grade for each of the cars. You can use the search and filter to easily find the right engine oil for your Kia Carens.
