Audi Q2 Oil Type Finder

With an exterior length of 4.2 meters, the Audi Q2 is a typically sized car of the compact SUV class. Thanks to the elevated seating position and the spacious interiour the car is a excellent choice for both the city commuter, but also overland and on the motorway meaning it can fulfill most people's needs.

To ensure you get the best fuel economy and long life out of the engine it is important that you monitor and top up the oil and perform a full oil change at the required intervals.

Top Tip: The cheapest way is to do the oil change by yourself. But if you prefer to visit a Audi workshop you can also save there by taking your own oil for the change.

The Audi Q2 has been available since 2016 and is loosly based on the Volkswagen Group's MQB platform and come ith one of the most modern engines from the VW range.

The 1.0 TFSI, 1.4 TFSI and 2.0 TFSI were available as petrol engines until mid-2018, and the 1.6 TDI and 2.0 TDI as diesel engines. Currently, the designations of the now exhaust-optimized petrol engines are 30 TFSI, 35 TFSI, 40 TFSI and 2.0 TFSI in the 300 hp SQ2 model. The 30 TDI and 35 TDI are available as turbo diesel.

The 30 e-tron is now also available as an electric vehicle for the foreign market. As is usual in the Volkswagen group, all engines are generally problem-free and long-distance runners if you look after the engine and follow the oil change interval exactly.

What is the oil change interval for an Audi Q2?

Thanks to the flexible LongLife oil change interval, you can drive your Audi Q2 for up to 30,000 kilometers or 24 months, whichever comes first, before you need to change the oil. The interval also depends on your driving style - the on-board computer always shows you the current status.

The tried-and-tested Castrol Edge 5W-30 LL brand oil can be used in almost all Q2 engines. It is approved by Audi/VW and meets the required specification.

The 1.0 TFSI unit requires the smallest amount of oil at around 4.0 litres when filling from empty, while the large petrol engine with a displacement of 2.0 litres require up to 5.7 litres of oil.

What Engine Oil For Audi Q2?

Every engine oil will have its viscosity grade labelled on the packaging. This will look something like 0W-20, 5W-30 or 5W-40. This grading is used to measure how thick / fluid the oil is and help ensure you buy the right oil for your car. The lower the viscosity grade of the oil, the more fluid and thinner it will be than those with a high grade (higher numbers) which will be much less running and thick.
