Audi A6 Oil Type Finder

Over the years, the Audi A6 has become a fixture in the luxury class and guarantees excellent driving performance and a high level of comfort on long journeys.

A regular oil change (e.g. as part of the annual service of your A6 ) is definitely recommended so that you get the most life out of the engine. When changing your Audi A6 engine oil you will save the most money if you do the oil change interval yourself. But if your not inclined to get under your car and change the oil it's fairly cheap for a local garage or Audi workshop to do.

Money Saving Fact: Did you know that when taking your A6 to a local garage or Audi dealership you can provide the oil for the oil change yourself? You can order the right type of oil cheaply on the Internet or pick up at your local automotive centre (like Halfords). But make sure that you buy an Audi/VW approved engine oil so there are no problems with your factory warranty.

With the A6 C6 sold between 2004 and 2011, Audi was able to further consolidate its position in the premium vehicle market. The sedan and station wagon were available with the following engines: The petrol engines were the 2.0 TFSI, 2.4, 2.8 FSI, 3.0 TFSI, 3.2 FSI, 4.2 and 4.2 FSI as well as the S6 and RS6 with a ten-cylinder engine. The 2.0 TDI, 2.7 TDI and the largest compression-ignition engine with a displacement of 3.0 litres were available as turbo diesels.

At Audi, the A6 model C6 has a long-life interval of 30,000 kilometers or 24 months, whichever comes first. Your on-board computer or the service booklet will show you when the next oil change is due!

What Engine Oil For Audi A6?

Every engine oil will have its viscosity grade labelled on the packaging. This will look something like 0W-20, 5W-30 or 5W-40. This grading is used to measure how thick / fluid the oil is and help ensure you buy the right oil for your car. The lower the viscosity grade of the oil, the more fluid and thinner it will be than those with a high grade (higher numbers) which will be much less running and thick.

So which engine oil should you buy for your Audi A6? Whether you are topping up your Audi A6 oil or doing a full change of your Audi A6's oil it is really important that you use the correct grade of oil.

We have listed all the Audi A6 models and engine types in the following table, as well as the correct engine oil grade for each of the cars. You can use the search and filter to easily find the right engine oil for an Audi A6.
