Over the years there have been five generations of the Ford Mondeo:

Ford recommends that the Mondeo oil is changed after 30,000 kilometers and within 24 months, which can be a useful guide - depending on the driving conditions, you will be reminded even more precisely of the next oil change by the on-board computer.

Since the oil consumption of your car can naturally vary greatly depending on the driving conditions and driving style of different Mondeo owners, it is best to always refer to the individual reminder provided by your on-board computer (newer Mondeo series).

Money-Saving Strategy: Doing an oil change on your Ford Mondeo on your own can be the most cost-effective option. But, many people do not want to deal with the mess or hassle. Nevertheless, there are still ways to save money if you choose to use a local garage or Ford dealership. A lot of people are not aware that when scheduling a service for your Ford Mondeo, you can also provide the oil for the oil change. You can purchase the suitable type of oil cheaply on the internet or at a nearby automotive centre (like Halfords or even some supermarkets). But be sure to buy an Ford approved engine oil to avoid any problems with your factory warranty.

These service display in your Mondeo will make it clear when the oil change is due. Of course, if you have a high proportion of short trips in the car then the oil should be replaced more often and the service interval on the Mondeo is sometimes greatly reduced.

In terms of the amount of oil you will need, we have provided two engine variants which are intended to give you a rough guide to the filling quantity. For the smaller engine with 115 hp you will need 3.85 litres of engine oil for a full oil change - the larger 240hp petrol engine with 240 hp, on the other hand, requires 5.7 litres of oil.
